Is it a little strange to have a little page of words?

This is a collection of new words which I find very interesting and not found on your typical day-to-day conversations or even in writing.

albeit: even though

ambivalence: simultaneous and contradictory attitudes or feelings toward an object, person, or action

bokeh: blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image

catharsis: the act or process of releasing a strong emotion (such as pity or feat) especially by expressing it in an art form

conundrum: a riddle whose answer is or involves a pun, difficult problem

cryptic: difficult to understand: having or seeming to have a hidden meaning

dalliance: a brief love affair

ebullience: bubbling enthusiasm

effulgence: radiant splendor: brilliance

evergreen: retaining freshness or interest

foible: a minor weakness or eccentricity in someone’s character

fugacious: fleeting

halcyon: happy, sunny, care-free

hubris: a great or foolish amount of pride or confidence

illustrious: admired and respected very much because a lot was achieved

imbroglio: a complex dispute or argument

lackadaisical: feeling or showing a lack of interest or enthusiasm

laconic: using few words in speech or writing

maudlin: showing or expressing too much emotion especially in a foolish or annoying way

mellifluous: sweet sounding

mondegreen: a word or phrase that results from a mishearing of something said or sung; a slip of the ear

will-o’-the-wisp: a delusive or elusive goal

winsome: cheerful, pleasant, and appealing

segue: a smooth transition from one topic or section to the next
